Vintage lithograph print by Danish artist Albert Bertelsen (1921-2019).

Signed/numbered by the artist and mounted in its original glass and lacquered timber frame.

Albert Bertselsen was a Danish self-taught artist born in 1921 in Vejle. His work was widely exhibited from the mid-1950s up until the 1990s in Denmark, during which time he was given a number of different awards and scholarships.

Although much of Bertselen’s work is of landscapes - rolling hills, imposing forests, lakes of what can only be assumed as ice-cold water - he also established a career for himself as a graphic artist, creating more abstract pieces, such as this one. Although seemingly a representation of a kind of fort or structure, the simplicity of both the image and of the background it’s set against leaves us unsure of what exactly it is we’re looking at. Equally, its almost pop art rendering makes it feel like a well-established icon or image - perhaps it was to Bertelsen.

Greater London/UK Bulky Item Delivery Guidelines
Large item deliveries below £1,000 and outside of our local area but within Greater London are charged at a flat rate of £36. Mainland UK large item deliveries are priced at £58.*

Large item orders over £1,000 are shipped free of charge within London and the UK mainland.*

*Please note! Our delivery costs include a one-person delivery service with delivery to the ground floor only. If you are unable to assist with unloading or require your purchase to be carried up any flights of stairs there will be an extra cost. Please be sure to inform us at checkout of any special circumstances.

Returns

For items purchased over the phone or online we do offer the standard 14 day cooling off period whereby the customer is entitled to a full refund (excluding shipping charges), no questions asked. Publications are non-refundable.

We do not offer refunds or returns on items bought in person in store unless the goods in question are proven faulty/unfit for purpose.
